🔒 Keep Your Property Safe as Temperatures Rise

As temperatures rise and daylight hours increase, it is important to remain mindful of home security. Warmer weather often brings open windows and doors, increased time spent outdoors, and periods away from home, all of which can create opportunities for opportunistic offenders.

There are a number of simple measures that can help reduce the risk of burglary and keep your property secure:

✅ Ensure doors and windows are locked when unattended, even if you are at home or in the garden.

✅ Secure sheds, garages and outbuildings, and safely store tools, ladders and equipment that could be used to gain access to your property.

✅ If you are away from home, consider using timer switches for lights and ask a trusted neighbour to collect post or keep an eye on your property.

✅ Avoid sharing holiday plans or extended absences on social media until after you have returned home.

✅ Always lock your vehicle, remove valuable items from view and keep keys out of sight and away from doors and windows.
